The Church of St Barnabas
15 North Broadway
Irvington, NY 10533
Irvington, NY 10533
The Church of St. Barnabas in Irvington is an Episcopal house of worship dating back to the mid-19th century, built in the Gothic Revival style. It is also alleged to be haunted by the spirit of its founder, John McVickar, as well as a woman who may have been his wife. The female ghost is drawn to the children of pastors who live in the rectory and will often visit them at night; in the year 2000 several workers fled from the church after seeing the apparition of John McVickar.
