Located on a cross-section of five different roads, this yellow stucco'ed French chateau has undergone a great many changes in owners and occupants since being built in 1924. In addition the wide array of businesses that have called the building home, however fleetingly, there are also rumors that it was used as a speakeasy during the 1920s and a brothel in the ‘60s.

Perhaps the reason no business seems to be able to last long at the address is that is cursed; at the very least, the building appears to be quite haunted. During the building’s many stints as a restaurant severs would often refuse to enter the basement after dark, claiming that there was an unholy presence lurking below. The ghost of a girl who was murdered is rumored to roam the upper floors, and the apparition of a man in workman’s clothes has been spotted starring at the building from outside. Witnesses say that the man looks rather dejected.

Maybe haunted or not

Back in the 1970's this location was known as The Piedmont. It contained different levels, the corner level by the main door at Weaver street was a restaurant. I ate there once with one boyfriend who was not pleased by his small portion of French food. During that dinner i felt like i was being watched from an empty upper balcony
It became popular as a nightclub on the upper floor in the early 70's.. It had a bar, a band, and dancing. Only once did i get that feeling of someone watching from the empty area of the room where the band was to play.
Another time we left and the girl driving made a left turn from their rear parking lot. The road runs very straight and a bright light was approaching. We both felt it was like a train approaching but without the noise.. As it passed her car, it was gone. It was till years later that I read a railroad had existed on that street.
So that was my experience.
