The Roycroft Inn was founded in 1905 by Elbert Hubbard who wished to create a hotel for artisans and visitors looking to support the local arts. The Inn is still open, but Hubbard died ten years later when he was onboard the Lusitania, a ship that was sunk by German forces in 1915. Hubbard’s ghost is said to still roam the Roycroft, causing people to see apparitions or hear footsteps and voices.

Share Your ExperiencesElbert Hubbard Still There
While I've never experienced anything out of the ordinary there, I have it from good authority that Elbert Hubbard is still roaming about his beloved Roycroft campus, including the Inn. Even after going there periodically over the past nearly three decades, I always feel it's a very special place.
