USS The Sullivans
1 Naval Park Cove
Buffalo, NY 14202
Buffalo, NY 14202
Commissioned in 1943, the USS The Sullivans served the US military for 22 years before being decommissioned and eventually brought to the Buffalo & Erie County Naval & Military Park. The ship was named after five brothers who all served on the same ship in World War II, the USS Juneau, and lost their lives when it was sunk by a Japanese submarine. One of the brothers, George Sullivan, is said to haunt his namesake ship.
