This living history museum allows you to explore Long Island as if it was back in the 19th century. The 209-acre village includes homes, farms and businesses -the site of your typical rural Long Island farm village. While exploring the property, you may also come across ghostly spirits that are believed to haunt the land, including that of the Conklin House, the Hewlett House, The Noon Inn, the Kirby House, and the Williams House.
At the Conklin House, which is a fisherman's cottage, an apparition of a woman dressed in 19th century apparel has been reportedly sighted on the upper floor. There's also been other haunting incidences like unexplainable sounds of banging and a worker who saw a shadow running towards him and then vanishing. At the Hewlett House, there's been haunting experiences like a worker feeling someone touching her on the shoulder, but to find no one behind her, and the security guard who claimed to here strange voices coming from the basement. At the Williams House, there's reports of doors and windows slamming on their own, objects relocating to other spots when no one is looking, and then there's the worker who heard a ghostly voice that said, "put my teacup down" when it was picked up while cleaning the house.
