Wayside Irish Pub
Elbridge, NY 13060
The Wayside Irish Pub in Elbridge offers locals a small pub atmosphere and plenty to drink. Occupying what was originally the Munro House built in the 1800s, ghostly activity has been reported in the pub since the 1960s. during renovations made necessary by a fire that cause significant damage to the building, passersby looked into the closed pub and saw a transparent woman in a gown standing on the stairs. Since then many people have seen the apparition, who has been named Sara and is believed to be the ghost of a girl who hanged herself on the third floor.
Patrons have also reported seeing a friendly ghost named Harry as well as several other specters including the Inn's original owner, Squire Munro, an unknown traveler who died in the building, a Revolutionary War soldier, and shadow figures in the basement. Visitors have felt pokes, touches, cold spots, and even had their hair pulled. Bartenders say it is fairly common for a glass to fly off the bar for no reason and pictures fall off the wall. Photos taken at the bar will sometimes capture floating orbs.
