I smelled smoke

The Capitol Building is incredibly beautiful and offers ghost tours in October. I went on a ghost tour as a kid, around age 10–12.

On the tour, my guide took us to our next stop. I stood there with my family and immediately smelled smoke, like something was burning. Concerned, I started whispering to my family asking if they smelled it, but they quietly told me they didn't smell anything. The guide told us his next story: it turns out we were at the place where the night watchman died in a fire.
