Visitors have witnessed a ghostly spirit or two while visiting this building that was at one time the home of the Townsend family. It also housed British soldiers during the Revolution, including Major John Andre. Witnesses have claimed to see the spirit of Andre wandering the building and in a particular quarter of the mansion, it is said to feel unusually cold. There's also the lady spirit in the kitchen who welcomes guests with the scent of baked cinnamon and apples.
