The Shanley Hotel

A variety of paranormal happenings have been reported at the haunted Shanley Hotel. According to the hotel owners rocking chairs on the premise will move on their own and doors will open and close, and objects will be found out of place regularly. Many have also heard the sounds of footsteps in the halls and stairways, children laughing, pianos playing, and disembodied voices.

There have also been reports of moving shadows and apparitions, cold spots, and mysterious whistling, alleged to come from the hotel’s deceased former owner, James Shanley. At times guests will smell the scent of home cooking, though there is no one in the kitchen. The bordello is said to be the most active room, wherein guests have felt lightheaded, shortness of breath, heaviness, and sudden feelings of joy or sadness.
