The Friars Club was founded in 1904, comprised primarily of comedians and celebrities, and moved to its current building in 1957. The club is best known for its celebrity roasts and holds several events throughout the year. Some visitors say that they have seen the ghost of Vaudeville performer Al Kelly, who died of a heart attack in the club’s dining room in 1966. Doors have been known to open and close on their own, and some have heard strange knocking or other sounds.
