The Pillars Estate is a haunted Victorian-style mansion built just after the Civil War. Today it operates as a reception venue, hosting weddings and other private events, and it also provides overnight lodging. Visitors have reported seeing ghosts in the building, but there are very strict rules about searching for spirits within its walls. No ghost hunting equipment is allowed, and lodgers must sign a waiver promising that they will not conduct a séance or otherwise disturb the spirits; however, guided ghost tours of the estate’s more active rooms are available.
