Wickham Farmhouse
Cutchogue, NY 11935
In 1854 a gruesome murder occurred onsite. The property was purchased by Joseph Wickham, and it is here where he and his wife were killed by Nicholas Bain, a former farmhand. Bain killed the two with an ax and was later caught and hanged. It is believed Bain's spirit remains on site.
The Wickham family continues to own the property. The family has reportedly witnessed the sight of a dark figure that stood over the bed in the middle of the night back in 1988. After that incident, the family sealed that room off, but other haunting events like the sounds of Bain's footsteps can still be hear from the second floor.
