Silvio’s Italian Villa occupies a building that dates back to the 18th century. It was first occupied by a Revolutionary War veteran named Levi Ellis and changed hands a number of times before being purchased by the Vail family. Tragedy struck in 1972 when Roy Vail’s sister was discovered murdered and suspicion was cast on Roy. Ten years later he committed suicide in the Peach Room. Visitors to what is now Silvio’s say that they have seen objects move on their own, doors open and close, and the apparitions of a young girl and cat appear then vanish.
