Downin Park in Newburgh is said to be haunted by the ghost of a little boy. Locals say the spirit can be seen by the park’s Lake, sobbing, or in the water making bubbles. He is allegedly the spirit of a boy who drowned in the lake, and will scream if he sees children get too close to the water’s edge.

Historical

There was a mansion built on the foundation of the roofless structure (can't remember what they're called). The mansion was ruined in a fire and the parks dept decided to build that structure on top of the existing foundation. Also, way back in 50's and 60's, they used to have beautiful peacocks in a cage. They were probably taken away because they wouldn't live too long nowadays!
