The Rochester Public Library has long been rumored to be haunted by the spirit of a young woman who drowned in a nearby aqueduct and was found wedged in a tunnel under the library. A librarian named Frank is also said to still come to the library, despite having died of a heart attack long ago. Visitors have reported hearing unexplained noises, including moans and footsteps, and seeing shadowy figures and heads peeking out from the stacks. At one point a security camera caught a heavy door opening and closing when there was no one around.
