Sagamore Resort
Bolton Landing, NY 12814
Founded in 1883, the Sagamore Resort has hosted many guests over the years, though some of them seem to have never checked out. One of the resort’s restaurants, The Trillium, is still visited by a ghostly couple often seen walking down the stairs; they are thought to have been among the resort’s first guests. In another restaurant, Mr. Brown’s, a tall woman wearing white once spoke to a prep cook, then walked right through him and disappeared. The cook promptly quit his job and walked out.
The spirit of a young boy has also been seen on the resort’s golf course chasing after balls. In life he would track down stray golf balls and sell them back to the pro shop, until one day he was tragically struck by a car and died in the accident.

Reviews
10ish years ago I visited the Sagamore Resort with my now ex-husband. It was on a business trip for his job. We stayed for the weekend. On the second morning, something woke me. I opened my eyes to a younger woman with dark hair up in a low bun, wearing an older fashioned maids uniform (bonnet, long sleeved blouse, long skirt and apron), watching me. She disappeared once I made eye contact with her. For years I have tried to push this out of my mind, but after reading that the Sagamore is indeed haunted, I now know what I saw was real. I have no idea how long she was watching me for...I would not hesitate going back to visit. It's a beautiful place! The unexpected "guests and staff" would not keep me away.
