The Van Dyck Lounge was founded in 1947 as a Jazz lounge, drawing performances from legends such as Roy Eldridge, Earl Hines, Dizzy Gillespie, Teddy Wilson, More Allison, Thelonious Monk, and others with its fantastic acoustics. After falling into disarray, the lounge was revitalized between 2009 and 2011, with its new owners restoring its classic look and onsite brewery. There is more to experience here than live music and local beer, however, as the club is rumored to be haunted by a brothel worker who was killed in the building’s stairwell.
