Prior to turning into an apartment complex, it was a resort that overlooked Mt. Sinai Habor. The property burned down when it caught on fire and since then there have been stories told of it being home to spirits. The property became a location for cult activities and satanic activities, thus resulting in the name "Satan's Trail." There are those who claim they've seen the ghost of Marilyn Monroe and that of a ghost named Mary.

  • 3 Cool Years.

Back in the late 70's I lived in a tiny room on the top floor by the fire escape. It was a funky refuge from the outer world of predictable blandness. As the years went by I learned how to drive my cut down VW beetle real fast on the dirt roads, and also learned trails ALL through the woods. At our own little beach, we could hang out and dig on the peace and quiet. Rent was only $135 a month and that included a tiny space in an old refrigerator and a small stove shared with 4 other freaks. The walls in some halls had holes punched in them, and big posters of weed , and other plants, I loved the fact that nothing was normal. When we got caught off from the outside world in the blizzard of 78, a bunch of us made got together and made a journey through 2 miles of snowdrifts to find a Deli and get supplies. there were no bad vibes, no fights, and no cops ever came there...and as far as anything supernatural at this place...nothing at all! But if there actually was anything supernatural, you wouldn't even notice it because everything was weird anyway! also- in many places, on floors and in places you would find multicolored splatters of paint from different artist's who lived there over the decades. when you entered the big wooden weathered building I lived in, it was cool and creepy, just a single green light bulb over the main stairs. There was no shortage of roaches, I remember one night , (there was a couple who lived on the other side of the wall) a woman with extremely long red hair started screaming in the middle of the night because roaches were running around on her face! I had a mattress and 2 Volkswagon seats and my easel, and my art books, and a radio. I loved living like a social outcast, with all the other weirdos.
