Reid’s Ice Cream Factory
Blue Point, NY 11715
Prior to the 1920s, this was where frozen treats were produced. After the shop closed in the 1920s, it sat abandoned and was not demolitioned until 2003. During the time of abandonment, many deadly events occurred on site. The site is also said to have been a popular spot for couples to get intimate.
In an instance that dates back to the 1950s, story goes that a young woman named Linda met a man at the abandoned property. When she ended up turning down his advances, she wound up murdered. Others, however, know of the story as the two being killed by a man who had watched them and had ill intent. After the incident, some claim to have seen the spirit of the woman and even heard her screams and cries.
In another instance that dates back to the 1970s, a young boy would play in the abandoned factory but fell to his death one day when he climbed too high on some equipment and lost his footing. Following the incident, people have reported hearing the boy play on the property.
In other instances, during the demolition, workers were said to have walked off the job because of the place being haunted. The workers witnessed doors that would regularly open, close, and lock on their own.
Reviews
As a kid, I remember visiting my grandparents and picking up my Grandfather from the train station. I definitely remember seeing the boy inside when I was there once; there were giant 15' tall iron wheeled machines and round cardboard empty tubs strewn about. I really wanted to explore but got yelled at and was NOT believed when I told others about the boy inside...
